Use of Geographic Information System (GIS) in the Oil and Gas industry
The Geology and Geophysics department takes over all tasks relating to exploration and evaluation of petroleum resources, including geological and geophysical studies necessary for identifying, risking and assessing Lebanon’s petroleum potential. A new internship position is available within the G&G unit in geographic information systems (GIS).
The intern will work on establishing a standardized risk matrix for prospects offshore which will be adopted in undergoing and future risk analysis. This new approach will be based on strong integration between geological elements and engineering concepts, and bridging the gap between exploration and petroleum engineering
